Cafendium uses cookies and similar storage (localStorage, IndexedDB) to run the service and, on the free tier, to show ads. This page lists them and explains how to control them.
1. Strictly necessary
Always on — the service can't work without them.
authjs.session-token— keeps you signed in.authjs.csrf-token,authjs.callback-url— OAuth flow.cafendium.consent— remembers your cookie choice.- IndexedDB caches for offline check-ins and the PWA shell.
2. Functional
cafendium.theme— your light/dark preference.- Mapbox tiles cache — speeds up the map.
3. Analytics & errors
- Sentry — anonymous error reports. Set via JS, no third-party cookie.
4. Advertising (free tier only)
If you don't have a Gold Bean subscription, we show ads via Google AdSense. AdSense sets its own cookies for ad delivery, frequency capping, and (with consent in EEA/UK) personalisation. Gold Bean subscribers see no ads and no advertising cookies are set.

5. Payments
Stripe sets its own cookies on subscription pages for fraud prevention. See Stripe's cookie policy.
6. Managing cookies
- Use the cookie banner to accept or reject non-essential cookies.
- Re-open the banner from Settings → Privacy.
- Block cookies in your browser — note this may break sign-in.
